November 6, 2005I just recently bought a chevy 1500 v6. When I bought it I was told that in the process of boosting another vehicle he crossed the cables and fried something. Now, there is a constant draw of power when not in use. I started by testing the alternater, and starter, both tested fine. After that I hooked a multi-meter in series with the battery. The amperage draw was aroung 5.5 amps, I started pulling out fuses to see If I would notice a drop in amps, therefore finding the circuit with the short. Sure enough when I pulled the first fuse labelled IGN the amps dropped by about half, after I pulled the second IGN fuse the amps dropped almost completely. Can someone tell me the best place to start looking for this dead short.
