February 16, 2006I just bought 20s for my s10 a few weeks ago. They are 8.5" wide and from outer lip to inner they are a hair under 9.5". They fit fine and look great, but when I turn one way they hit my sway bar and the other they hit a brake in just outside the frame rail. I haven't mounted tires yet and think if I do, it will be worse. I ordered spacers and plan to try that this weekend. My question to you is am I wasting my time? Do I just need wheels that are not as wide? Please help me. I know it can be done. If anyone has successfully put 20s on a s10 please let me know how you did it. Or any other info that would be helpful. Thank you.

November 10, 2006I've got a 98 s-10 with dubs(20's) 9'' wide rims/w sway bar, drop spindles and bags. I don't have a full turning radius unless i lift the front up then its more so. I've gotten use to it, to where i don't even notice it because it becomes habit. You'll have to get use to turning less than you use to. I've also had problems when my truck was static dropped, of the front fenders tearing into my tires. I cut out the inner lip which remedied that. My best advice would be to get use to driving more cautiously, do wider turns than normal.
September 15, 2011Not many options when you drop and go with big wheels. Triming, wheel/tire width and offset is about all you can do to remedy it
