November 21, 2003What would the overall diference in circumfrence if I put a 35/12.50 on a 10 inch wide wheel or if I put it on a 12 inch wide wheel?? Wouldn`t it be taller on a 10??

November 21, 2003It doesn`t matter...I wouldn`t put a 12.5 inch wide tire on a 12 inch wide rim to begin with. It increases greatly the possibility of the tire jumping off the rim.

November 21, 2003it wouldnt effect the height of the tire, it will however make it a lot wider on a 12, but as stated before, it is not recommended because the tread width on a 35 x 12.5 is only about 10 inches, and tires are balloon shaped, not flat wall. its recommended that the width of the rim is about the same as the tread width
November 21, 2003Well I was wondering because a buddy of mine has some 31/10.50`s on 10 inch rims and he likes the way that looks and he was wondering if he could keep the same wide look with the 35`s by going to 12 inch rims. He doesn`t really do any hardcore offroading either.

November 21, 2003im running 15x10 inch rims on my 15/39.5x15 super swampers, and the tread is WAY wider than 10 inches.. its a good 12-13 inches.
November 21, 2003your tires are also 15 inches wide not the 12.5 thats their talking about.......... i got a 12.5in wide tires on 10 inch rims and it looks good.
November 22, 2003It will make a difference, but not enough to notice. For example: http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/assets/pdf/mud_terrain_ta_km.pdf You can see there that BFG measures out their 35" M/T at 34.8" on probably a 10" rim. Four Wheeler magazine did a test on their M/Ts on a 8" rim and measured them out at an honest 35".
