January 29, 2004I took our Grand Vitara in for a recall on the throttle cable.
After the throttle ccable was replaced, I noticed that the vehicle now shifts too early (@ 4000 RPM) while at full throttle. The redline is 6500. It also doesn`t downshift to the lowest geat available anymore unless I`m going 15 MPH or something.
Could this be associated with the replacement of the throttle cable. Could something or some adjustment have been disrupted in the process of replacing the throttle cable? I get the sense from the dealer that are implying that it could not be related. I think otherwise but I`m no mechanic.
