February 10, 2004Hello all, I have a 96 2 Door Chevy Tahoe, recently my fuel pump went out at an intersection (oh believe me that SUCKED) . I replaced the pump with a Master Brand pump, I know, I know. It went out a week later. I got an ACDelco pump this time. But when I hooked it up, nothing. I had no fuel pressure!!! I tried out my friends fuel pump by connecting it to a 12v battery and I put it in a small bucket of water, it shot the water out about 15 ft in the air...but when I hooked up this new ACDelco pump, it barely squirted the water out about 3 ft.
My question is, do you think I purchased 2 bad pumps? or do you think there might be another issue? By the way I blew the fuel lines clean with a compressor so they are not clogged, fuel filter is brand spankin new and if I use Starting Fluid the truck will start but then die out do to fuel starvation. PLEASE HELP thanks in adavance
