March 2, 2004Has anyone ever heard of a 5.7 to a 4.3 swap, how complicated would this swap be?

March 2, 2004wouldn`t be too complicated...
March 2, 2004No kidding, why would you. But it`s not any harder than going larger. A buddy of mine for some reason swapped a V8 out and put a V6 in his old Ford F150. Better gas milage I suppose. The only thing we were told to watch for, is wiring and hose sizes. The larger engine for some reason had all the wiring one guage size bigger than should have been. But other than that, we had no problems. You might also want to check on things like engine mounting points, tranny and bellhousing sizes, ect. But I suppose it could be done.
But why? lol
March 2, 2004Its real easy to do...but i wouldnt. If you want a v6, sell your truck and get a truck with a v6 stock...you can get a lot of money for a v8 pickup and can pick a v6 pickup cheap
March 2, 2004what???? do not do that, all you will do is end up with a mess. sell your truck and go buy a factory v-6 pickup.
March 2, 2004I`m agreeing with the rest of the tribe here.... Don`t screw up a a good 350 powered truck that someone else will buy from you. Go out and get you an S-10.
March 2, 2004Thats like cutting 2" off you rod...
Whay would you consider such a thing?
seriously is this a joke?
March 3, 2004No its not a joke just throwing the idea arround at present..I have my truck outfitted the way I want it and I didn`t want to have to change all my accesories out to a new truck. As for the S10 suggestion, the S-10 is simply too small for my needs, I was simply looking for a way to improve mileage however after looking into the specifics of the matter I found that the V6 dosen`t offer much of an improvement..
