July 4, 2004Mine moves like that too, it slowly goes to empty and then I have to fix it by filling the tank. haha. Does the needle move quickly or does it just wander back and forth?
July 5, 2004when its in park it jumps back and forth really quick but when you put it in gear it goes to were its suppost to be but when you are just setting still in park it jumps back and forth.
July 5, 2004my 2000 GMC does it, my friends 02` chevy does it and my other friends 2000 chevy does it. im beginning to think its a problem with most all the new generation chevy trucks.
July 25, 2004GM has had some really bad fuel sender issues...especially on the NBS GM trucks. Really the only thing to do to fix it is to drop in a new sender...not a fun job.

July 25, 2004before you throw new parts at it test it, sounds more like a bad contact somewhere
August 5, 2004My S10 used to do that. I have a manual tranny and when I put it in 1st gear it would go to full, If I put it in reverse it would go to empty... but now it just stays on full all the time so I fill up with gas every other time im out and hope I dont run out.
