August 1, 2004Ive been looking at what tires I want to get for my truck when I get my SAS done. Just to fill you in its a 92 S10 4.3 5 speed and I am putting a Full float D60 in the rear, and a 3/4 ton chevy D44 in the front, with 4.10 gears. I will have some used cheap 33`s for street use, but I still havent decided on trail tires. I either want 38.5x15x15 Boggers, or 39.5x13.5x15 IROKs. The IROKS are slightly cheaper, but im worried they will look too skinny. Incase youre wondering about the gearing in the diffs, and tire size...I will be running 2 t-cases with a lo-lo range of 7.1 so gearing on the trails will be no problem with 38-40" tires. There is a general mix of mud, rocks, and loose dirt here, but I like running on rocks the most. Will the IROKs look like skinny pizza cutter tires on an 8" wide rim?

August 1, 2004IROKs run extremely large. Their so called 13.5" wide tires measure 15" mounted on a 10" rim....and that`s at the tread, IIRC.
Edit: Got this from off another board I`m a member of.
This is my "burn-out" buddy`s little brother`s truck. Its a 94 1500. We spent ALL DAY Sunday putting on a 5.5in Superlift suspension lift along with a 2in coil spacer to level it all out. The tires are 36x13.5x15 IROKS on 15x10 MT Classic II`s. My question...do they look like they are 13.5`s to anyone? Measuring the tires mounted they were about 15 inches wide on that 10 inch wide rim!!!

August 1, 2004Yeah I see what you mean now. That pic helped, plus I went to Interco`s site and got the specs. The IROKs in the size I mentioned have a cross section thats 1/2" wider than the 15" wide bogger. I think the tread width is close to the same too.
