July 26, 2003what is the best way to body lift a 89 2wd gmc 1500 to be able to fit 33" tires. is it possible to put a leveling kit in front in addition to a body lift? Also is it possible to put heavier springs such as out of a 2500 and get lift this way?

July 27, 2003that wasn`t my question, i asked if u can combine a leveling kit and a body kit. also how much would it rub with just a 3" body lift.
July 27, 2003They would rub on the bumper pretty bad. A 4x4 can fit 33`s with now body lift if you trim the bumper about 3/4" of an inch but then the tire hits the piece behind the bumper a little bit.

quote:never installed either, but i would think you could combine them because a leveling kit is similar to a suspension lift and a body lift just lifts the body.

July 27, 2003its not similar to a suspension lift on his truck....all it is, is cranking the tbars which in turn causes undue stress on the front end. With a body lift(either 2 or 3 inch) only you could fit 31s on 8 inch wide rims
July 28, 2003i thought he was refering to the actual leveling kit you can buy. not cranking the torsion bars.
July 28, 2003All the "leveling" kits out there seem to provide heavy duty T-bars and tell you to crank them up. Thats really all but even with heavy duty tbars it causes problems with the front end
July 30, 2003the kit is only about $75 and it seems somewhat similar to a body lift. what is the max that i could go with either just a leveling kit, or just a 3" body lift.
