November 4, 2003I`ve got a 98 Ext cab Silverado and after a bit of research and deciding how much lift I`m going to do I`m left with a few questions. First off heres the basic idea I`ve gotten so far.
6" suspension lift 3" spindels and 3" coil springs up front.
A 4" rear leaf hanger and a 2" front leaf hanger with stock shackles, (right now I have 2" lowering shackles to make it sit level riding on 31.5x10x15`s) I`m still deciding on what shock to go with either Monroe`s or Bilstiens.
Now for the questions. What size tire and wheel will fit under this thing?
What backspacing should I use to keep the tire from hanging out way to far?
Will the rear pinion angle need to be shimmed?
And how do you install leaf spring hangers? do the original hangers have to be drilled off and then the replacements bolted in? or are they just an add on?
I`m sure I will think of more questions as I dose off to sleep but for now this is gonna have to do it.
And for those of you that are thinking...why doesn`t this guy just buy a 4x4...I would if I Could
