The best way would be to use the casting #`s.The 351M crank is actually a 351W crank. Look for the 351`s 1/2" shorter stroke in the rod journals.

The snout on the 351M is apparently different from the 351W. That`s why a 4" stroke Windsor is no easy task without some fancy machining. I think it was Coast High-Performance that had that info - can`t quite remember. As BroncoJ says, measure the crank.

i am wondering what the benefits are of a aftermarket crankshaft kit? after that, what is the best crankshaft kit?...November 14, 2011
I have a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 with a 350 Vortec engine. I am replacing the truck parts engine with a rebuilt 350 that is a few years older and does not have the crankshaft sensor. What do i need to do to bypass this crankshaft sensor?![]() |
