January 26, 2004I recently got my transmission rebuilt. When I go about 65 or over it feels like my truck is in last gear. It sounds like it is winding out. I can`t even drive on the highway going the speed limit. Could that be that they messed up my transmission or what??please help.
January 26, 2004this deserves idiot post of the week...and its already monday.
please state the type of year/model truck, and type of transmission.. 2wd or 4wd ect. ect.
sounds like they messed with the gear packs and made the final gear ratio lower.
January 26, 2004If it is a th350, or th400, maybe the vacuum modulator is not hook up to a vacuum source?
If it is an overdrive tranny, maybe the tv cable is improperly installed?
January 26, 2004Bring it back to whoever rebuilt your trans and tell them to fix it right ....
January 26, 2004The guy probably wants some basic things to check so that if it is something really easy to fix (like a vacuum modulator not hooked up), then he may be able to correct it himself, without having to take it back to a mechanic or dealership and all the delays and scheduling , etc, etc it sometimes creates.
Give us your year, model and type of tranny if you know it, and hopefully someone here can give you somethings to check.
January 27, 2004It is a 1995 chevy silverado 1500 4wd. It has a 350
January 27, 2004are you sure it is a 350 (th350) transmission (or were you meaning that it has a 350 engine)?
a 1995 k1500 would have come with a 4l60e from the factory in which case it is all electronically controlled. Was the transmission changed to a th350 for some reason?
If you are not sure, you can look at the transmission pan, a 4l60 will be square shaped, while a th350 will look like a square with one corner chopped off diagonally.
keep giving me info and I will try my best to help out.
also, does it shift through all the gear?
