May 31, 2004I`ve recently come across a little extra money (doesn`t happen often!) and want to give my truck a little more power. I have a 2.7L 4-banger and want to upgrade the cat-back exhaust. I want the most power from it but don`t know what brands to get. Is custom made exhaust systems a good idea and what size pipe should I get?
May 31, 2004If you want the most power with a good sound, an already put together cat-back would be the best choice for you as getting the most power takes a lot of know-how and experience to do. You`ll have to do some searching as I don`t know what companies do and don`t offer cat-backs for your truck. Gibson might offer one, and I`m pretty sure that Magnaflow does. If I were you, I`d take the closest look at Magnaflow.
June 2, 2004does no muffler at all give bring up horsepower more than say a flowmaster would?
June 2, 2004Yes. Any moron can stick a piece of pipe in place of a muffler and gain more horsepower/torque. It takes skill and know how to make a full exhaust system that puts out more power and torque than open headers; or straight pipes for that matter. IMHO straight pipes on gas motors (especially stock, I can tolerate built) are ghey.
