February 18, 2004I have the same problem. My parking brake doesn`t work though, that may have something to do with it
I`d be interested in knowing what fixes your light roscoe
February 18, 2004mine stays on... all the time.
February 18, 2004If you lift up on the foot pedal on the parking brake, does the light go out? If not, check your brake fluid level. Ive seen both of these things cause the light to come on.
February 19, 2004Does your truck have "RWAL"? ( Rea whell anti-lock) Or ABS? I don`t think they had abs in 88, but the bravada usually had better options if i remember right.
In any case the RWAL systems don`t have a seperate light like modern abs systems and use the blinking parking light for error codes. If you have a Haynes manual it should have a troubleshooting section with code info.
Hope this helps!
February 19, 2004nevermind the bravada thing its late and all the posts ran together in my head
February 25, 2004I`ll second that. My chilton manual says it`s an RWAL trouble code.

February 27, 2004parking brakes are mechanically operated by a cable not hydraulically by the mastercylinder..
February 27, 2004Any parts store chain should carry them. Mine came from R&S Strauss/Strauss Auto. Good luck!
