January 2, 2003my truck is a 94 extcab shortbox, and every year the bottom colour on the 2-tone gets sanded off and re-painted. (by me) because the paint flakes off and it begins to rust. The paint i use is not clearcoated or done proffesionally cause i cant afford it,. I live in northern ontario, where trees cant grow within a mile of the roads because of the salt. I was wondering if anyone has any tips to keep my truck from beginning to fall apart. or what youve done,? thanks

January 2, 2003there is a product similar to line-x that you can do a home. they sell it at canadian tire and its about 50 bucks, you just use a roller to apply it. It is more than enough to do a box, and it might be for this type of project. I have a buddy who did his box with it and he is yet to see any rust.
just an idea though.
