January 16, 2002HEY! FIRST post here! If you look in my sig, i just got an `85 GMC, and my CD player wont play CD`s... I put one in, and it says"E-04" and ejects it. I have tried recorded ones, and store baughten ones. Neither work. Any ideas?
January 16, 2002Do you have the manual for it? Usually they tell what each code means. It could be a dirty laser, too much moisture in the air, too cold out, or a whole number of other things. Or the deck might just be screwed up and junk. I would try to get ahold of Jensen somehow, by phone or email, and see what they have to say. Sorry, I can`t find their site. Their old address is gone and I have no idea where to look.
January 16, 2002www.jensen.com
That was easy! Sheesh. Their old site was www.jensenaudio.com, and that is all I could find links for.
January 16, 2002no, i do not have a manual. If it may be a dirty laser, is there any way I can clean it without having to send it to Jenson or a Radio Shack or somthing like that? It could certainly be the temperature, it is about 10 degrees F in SD right now.
I E-mailed Jenson with my problem, thank you for your help!
January 17, 2002Your proble right. I had a Jensen in my old Bronco and it would never play cd`s when it was cold. I had one in my 77 too but it started smoking one night a week after I got the truck so I yanked it out of the dash going down the road and threw it out the window.
February 2, 2002THERE MAY ALSO BE A RESET BUTTON. IF YOU CAN NOT FIND ONE ,DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY FOR A FEW MINUTES AND SEE IF THAT HELPS. IT SHOULD.
