January 18, 2005Try and see how many times you can get the tach to make a complete revolution.
January 18, 2005I've been told not to go above 4,600rpm...but i've had it to 5000rpm and i wont go higher until i have a pair of safety glasses on...
January 18, 2005not sure, I know my 360 in the Goat has the redline on the factory tach at 5 grand, but I wouldn't let it get close to that!! I like my rods and pistons to be INSIDE the motor, not grenaded through my hood!! LOL...I would say 4000 to 4200 for a motor with high miles and such...my opinion only though.
December 31, 2005Shifts at what.
I guess you want to know how hi it will rev to go faster down the road.
A modified valve body can solve that. Or a five speed.
If you just want to know how hi it will rev take it to a burnout contest.
Unless you have a rev limiter. That 305 will rev right up until spin a bearing or throw a rod.
Then at least you will have a crowd cheering you on, when your engine blows in two.
