April 4, 2005Hello, I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8L. I have been looking for an intake for some time now. But with so many to chose from, I'm lost. Also, everyone says they have the best one. Does anyone have input about this?

April 5, 2005The type of intake you should use has to do with the type of performance you're looking for. When you go to the speed shop or wherever, let them know what you want to do with the vehicle. Some intakes are good for low end torque for towing and hauling .... others are more suited for higher rpms, you'll get the speed, but not the power .... as I said, it all depends on what you want to do with the vehicle as to the type of intake to buy .........
April 5, 2005Big Frank, thanks a lot for the info, it makes more since now. I don't tow anything right now. And I'm looking for an extra kick in passing and acceleration. Now I know I need something with higher rpm performance. I have been asking shops and been getting different advise. Which leads me to believe that some if not all of them are pushing one product or another for whatever reason. At least I'm on the right track now. Thanks again.
