May 17, 2005I have a qustion. so here it is I have recently aquired a 1985 gmc s-15 jimmy pickup truck. and I need sto replace the front fenders of the truck and i was wondering if after i got the new fenders if i sprayed the new ones with spray on bed liner if it would work and make them last longer and be more durable and also keep them from rusting so soon. i have one more problem and that is i have a sun roof that is fixed closed there are no hinges its just a window in the roof but that is not the problem the truck has been sitting behind my moms house that she is renting but recently i took an intrest in it and the land lord gave it to me but upon futher inspection i have relised there is a leak somewhere in the truck but i don't know where i thought it was coming from the roof but that window is pretty well sealed shut but if you half any suggjestion i would like to hear them

August 31, 2006ABOUT THE RUST I AHEV ACTUALLY SEEN PPL DRILL HOLES IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FENDER SO THE WATER DOES NOT SIT INSIDE OF THE FENDER AND THAT WAY IT WILL DRAIN OUT AND YEAH EITHER RHINO LINE IT OR SOMETHING ANYTHING WILL HELP THAT U DO LIKE THAT BUT FOR YR LEAK CHECK LIKE YR WINDOW SEALS AND DOOR SEALS AND OTHER SEALS FROM OUTSIDE OF YR TRUCK
October 15, 2011Yep that is the problem is that the water sits on the sills. Drilling a hole is not a bad idea as mentioned above. Make sure you seal the holes or they will start to rust once you have drilled through and broke the factory seal.
