August 4, 2005I have a 97 S10 Pickup 4x4... and 235/75's arnt cutting it lol. So i was checking around into lifts and whatnot... My goal is to try and squeeze 31's on but people are telling me even with a 2 inch suspension, or a 2 inch body lift they will still hit when goin around a turn. And someone also told me 2' and 3' inch suspensions are no good for CV's and ball joints is this true? Or am i just better off putting on 30's on stock height and not messing with a lift?

November 23, 2006I put 31's under a 2wd S-10 with the 2" suspension and 2" body lift.
Git out your Summit Racing Catalog and look for Bart Steel Wheels. You can order them with the off-set (stick out further) you need to keep them from hitting your frame. They are light, tough as nails, and cheap. Just yank off those stickers on them that say 'not for street use'.
December 10, 2006With most any lift, you'll have to trim the front valance to clear for tires. Don't worry about that. Yes, altering the CV's and control arms to a SEVERE angle CAN cause parts to wear out and break easily. But that's where 'doing your research' on suspension kits comes in handy. Know what you're buying, and why you're buying it. Toss ya a lift kit on there, fit on some 33", and enjoy the piss outta it.
December 12, 2006Id get as much lift as you can afford, and then dont get bigger then 35s, unless you love to replace parts.... or do a Solid Axle Swap (SAS)
