July 21, 2006Ive got a 1982 chevy k20 pickup (stock as of right now) but i bought 12" lift springs that measure 44" (front from eye to eye) and 52" rear springs, the problem im having is how do i get the springs on when the old stock springs measure 48" -eye to eye...On top of that how do i put the springs on in my drive way when its on a hill ( the truck has no motor in it)...P.S.-> IM not buying new springs and it has to be done in my drive way!---thanks for the help

July 28, 2006whatever springs you put in it they must be the same length unless you want to move hangers.are they out of the same truck as you have? it is not a very safe plan to change them on a un level surface unless your lifwe insurance is paid up,it,s a very bad idea! you need to be able to securely block it up or gravity will take over when you are not expecting it!
August 23, 2006hey man if you have another vehical you can chain you truck to it and put blocks under the tires on both cars and make shure that the car or truck you have it tied to e-brake is on.
